If you’re flying from LA to Tokyo (or anywhere with a big time difference), here’s exactly how I prep before the flight and what I do during it to feel human when I land:
✅ Start shifting my sleep schedule 3–4 days before bonus for a week or more
✅ Avoid caffeine after 9 AM
✅ Take morning walks for sunlight exposure
✅ Eat dinner early to reset my internal clock
✅ Set my watch to destination time as soon as I board
✅ Stay awake on the flight to match Tokyo’s daytime
✅ Avoid alcohol + drink tons of water
✅ Get sunlight after landing and stay awake until 9 PM local time
💻 Bonus tip: I use the flight time to catch up on work or plan my trip on my @AMD-powered laptop because it’s super lightweight + long battery life = perfect for long hauls
Jet lag isn’t 100% avoidable BUT this routine has helped me adjust MUCH faster, avoid that zombie feeling, and actually enjoy my first few days abroad!!!
